The wellbeing of our pupils, staff and the wider community is central to our ethos and practice. We understand that wellbeing can have a huge impact on children’s learning and we are proactive in supporting them to look after their own wellbeing in a positive way. We also know that supporting our staff, teams and community with good wellbeing practices is of paramount importance. All of our work on wellbeing positively impacts our school and community.
As a school we have signed up to the Department for Education’s Wellbeing Charter which is a declaration of support for, and a set of commitments, to the wellbeing and mental health of everyone. It sets our principles, provides a framework to highlight areas of wellbeing and is a tool to help us audit current practice and plan next steps. All of these elements are important in our work towards improving the wellbeing of our whole community. You can find a link to this charter here.
With this in mind, along with a whole school approach we also have certain team members who are specifically trained and who’s duty it is to take responsibility for wellbeing across the whole school. This page is to help inform you of what we are doing to ensure good wellbeing and where you can find further support or advice should you need it.
