Our School Council is made up of two children from each class from Year 1 upwards. They are voted in by their peers and are changed yearly to give as many interested pupils a chance to join.
It is their job to meet with Mrs Mackay on a regular basis and represent the views of the other children in their school, make suggestions for what they think should happen and feedback to their class.
Throughout the school year the children will gain opportunities to use their creativity to present, research, and share their thoughts and opinions to drive forward school improvement.

Our Eco Council meets every week with Mrs Lochwood. Members are voted in by their class and are made up of children from Year 2 upwards. Year 1 joins us from the Summer Term.
Being a member of the Eco Council gives you the chance to be the pupil voice of your class on all things environmental. If you have a passion for animals and environments and want to make a positive impact then join our council (or pass your ideas onto your class representative.)

The A Team are a group of children from Key Stage 2 who are the voices of – and ambassadors for – our neurodiverse learners.
“We aim to make the school environment as accessible and inclusive as possible. The school has recently been awarded the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Awareness award and the Silver Autism Awareness Award and we were really involved in preparing for this. Amongst other actions, we also designed and planned our sensory room and are responsible for making sure our sensory boxes are used sensibly and effectively. We also raise awareness of neurodiversity in assemblies and class forums.
We meet with Ms Davies on Tuesday mornings.”

After their successful application at the end of Year 4, the Peer Mentors are trained by Miss Loftus or Ms Wren and work to support younger children across the school with either Mastery Spelling, Mastery Phonics, Paired Reading or turn taking. They are timetabled to work with their mentee up to three times a week. In their application, the children have to explain why they want to do the role and how they would help others. Our Peer Mentors are very proud of the important work they do and take great responsibility, showing compassion to their mentee.
